Make Art, Save the Planet – EuroMilano at Climate Week NYC 2024
The global community is at an inflection point. The effects of climate change are increasingly evident and impactful, putting ecosystems, economies and the very survival of humanity at risk. The scientific data is unequivocal: our planet is going through a phase of profound change, with devastating consequences for the environment and human societies.
Art emerges as a powerful catalyst to stimulate collective consciousness and promote concrete actions in defense of our planet. The “Make Art, Save the Planet” event is part of the Climate Week NYC 2024 schedule with the aim of exploring the crucial role of artistic expression in raising public awareness of environmental issues and mobilizing civil society towards a more sustainable future.
It is imperative to act with urgency and determination to reverse the trend and limit global warming. Art has the power to excite, inspire and stimulate reflection. Through images, sounds and narratives, artists can convey powerful messages and invite audiences to question themselves. Every individual can make a difference. Art can help create greater awareness of one’s responsibilities and promote more sustainable behavior.
British journalist James Imam interviews four great international artists on the role of art and the artist in spreading principles of sustainability and respect for the environment and in raising public awareness in adopting more sustainable lifestyles.
